1999-2001 TNO Eindhoven (NL)

In 1999 Cor Unum was given the honor of developing a ceramic art project, to grace the new main building of TNO, then scheduled
to be built in Eindhoven (NL).

Cor Unum invited Amsterdam based Barbara Nanning to design the objects that together would form the imposing ceramic work
of art that now adorns this new building.

Barbara Nanning is a well known ceramic and glass designer
in The Netherlands.  Her work meets with great approval and appreciation accross the globe.
Originally a ceramist, she is constantly pursuing  the limits and bounds of ceramic design.
An example: by developing a new colorful 'skin', built up from many layers filled with various types of sand and pure pigments, she has created new dimensions for contemporary ceramic art.
The bright, intense colors and
a typical velvety feel make her work uniquely recognizable and very much admired.

For her design of applied art in the new TNO building Barbara Nanning choose the theme of everlasting motion, a movement without end or beginning, the circle of life.
The artwork consists of 250 objects. These objects are placed so as to create an atmosphere of movement as they proceed from the atrium and wind their colorful way through the floors of the building utilizing the various concrete piers and pillars.

                                                         

The development and production of this project has been realized by Cor Unum in co-operation with Brander, also seated in 's-Hertogenbosch (NL).
